I started playing in July and this will be my first foray into a live exhibition of excellent mando players (it's all bluegrass, I'm sure I'll see some!) Groups include Don Rigsby, IIIrd Tyme Out, Cherryholmes, Blue Highway, Joe Mullins (local radio announcer who's also a banjo player), Dale Ann Bradley, James King Band, Wildfire,
Billie Renee and Cumberland Gap, Rarely Herd, and Doyle Lawson! I'll be there on Saturday but will unfortunately not be able to stay for the much-talked-about 'Show After the Show' (everyone meets at Max and Erma's and jams together!)

Will I see any of you there?

I'm currently planning on it. Will probably be Friday night. I have to check my schedule. I know I have a couple gigs that weekend. The jam is actually in the liberty room between the convention center and Max and Erma's. Went to the one back in March and had a great time. Maybe I'll see ya there.

I will be there Friday night. Look for the guy carrying the Dark Blue Calton case with the bullet holes and a Mandolin Cafe sticker on it.

I hate to answer for someone else, but I don't think Luv2HearMando will be there after all. BIG Ohio State Michigan game, and the friend who was going with Luv2HearMando backed out . Wish I could go myself, but I'll be home with the young'uns.

Well, I'll be there of course. #I got my reserved seating like last year. #I'll bring the mando too. #I'm 5'7", very short gray hair and carry a Weber case. #Not that I am good enough to jam with the big boys, but I always like to give it a go.

Who cares if someone back out on you? #You'll meet plenty of people there!

Oh yeah, I forgot too. #It's the big OSU/UOM game on Saturday afternoon, the 18th. #This is the first time in 20 years they have both come into the game undefeated. #It's going to get pretty crazy I am sure. #My son is OSU alum and he can't even touch a ticket! #The tickets at ground level are going for in the thousands and over $500 in the nosebleed seats now! #And we thought mandos were expensive. #How about it? #Anyone want to shell out $2,000 for 4 hours of entertainment? #Personally, I'll pass.

Joe Mullins stated yesterday that there will be a big screen TV to view the game on while attending the indoor fester.

Thanks for posting the info for me, LateBloomer. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif My hubby is the one who backed out on me... he's also OSU alum and didn't realize when he said he'd go that it was the same day as the game! I may end up going alone on Saturday, I don't know. I just figure that whomever I see carrying a mandolin I'll just adopt as my new best friends! lol

Hey all, that's what TIVO is for! I'll be missing my highshcool football teams first ever trip to the regional finals friday night but hey you gotta have your priorities! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif GO BLANCHESTER WILDCATS!! It doesn't cost anything to jam at that festival. After the game you all can come up to Max and Erma's or to the Liberty room and jam all night at no charge.

Scotti: You gonna go to the show? Maybe I'll see ya there.

I'll be there Friday until 5pm. Hey LateBloomer, bring them young-uns with ya. I won't be hard to find. I'll be mandoless I imagine and the one with the 6 and 8 year old in tow. Cherryholmes is their favorite. Mine too I suppose. When you all get there make sure you talk with Joe Mullins and fill out the comment cards about adding lots of Mandolin Workshops for the future. I've been workin on him a bit already.

Sorry I didn't get to see any of you there. Had a great time. Cherryholmes was excellent as was IIIrd Tyme Out.

I wish I could have been there. But I was home building a wigwam with my ten year old. A school project that had been put on the back burner too long. (I only got to see the fourth quarter of the OSU game.) I'll put the next one on my calendar!
