I'm in DC for the week and just bought tickets to see Chris Thile's show tonight at the Birchmere. Anybody else going?

See you there,
Ken

There was a thread on this when it was announced. I opted to go see the John Cowan band the same evening.

I searched but didn't find any posts in the last month. I'll try again.

Thanks,
Ken

I was thinking about it, but being that I'm seeing him in January with Edgar Meyer at George Mason, I opted to save my money for other shows.

Oh...and no mando content that I know of, but in case anyone in the Maryland, DC, NOVA area hasn't heard, Darol Anger is doing a show at the Smithsonian (which will be free I believe). I'll be there.

It's proving to be a good season for music in this area.

Cheers.

The other thread didn't answer my original question. Anybody else going tonight? I'm really looking forward to it.

Cheers,
Ken

Ken,

I'll be there, along with a number of other mando-nauts and our +1's.

If you're in town over the weekend, you should try to make it out to Luckett's (about an hour out of DC in virginia) to catch the show on Saturday night. Audie Blaylock with Michael Cleveland (on mandolin?!). There's a kid named Patrick from the area on fiddle; he's scary good.

Ken,

did you bring a mando with you this week?

Ken - I relooked. I remembered a lot of people saying they were seeing the group but most were seeing them other than at the Birchmere. If you've never been there, the Birchmere has a slightly different entry system. They give out line numbers as you arrive. When the doors open you enter in sequence and pick your table.

The Lucketts Community Center in Lucketts, VA. It's north of Leesburg, VA, just a couple of miles across the river from Maryland.

Ken,

I got to see Chris and the how to grow a woman band do a warm up gig in a small backroom bar here in the east village Tuesday night. You're in for a real treat.

It was an amazing show!

Yes, I brought the mandolin but tonight I'm going to see Emmy Lou at the Strathmore and flying home tomorrow afternoon. Anything going on this afternoon or tomorrow morning?
