It's rare I get spending cash, and I've always wanted to invest in instructional DVDs to help me get better on the mandolin. #I'm a mutli-instrumentalist, play mostly bluegrass, I'm past the basics and know my way around the fretboard, but I need help with runs and right hand picking technique. #

I'm leaning towards the Chris Thile set, or the Norman Blake set. #Maybe Sam Bush? #Does anyone out there know of a DVD they'd recommend?

The Thile DVD is great for technique. The 2-ocrave scales and his advice in general was very helpful to me.

I tend to watch the Bush DVDs more...they are fun just to have on while you're doing something else. Both his Sam Bush Mandolin Method and the disc 2 of the Bill Monroe DVD set are great. He's a great teacher, and is just fun to watch.

I haven't seen the Norman Blake DVD, but I also like the Tim O'Brien DVD.

I wish Roland White would make a DVD. I have his instructional CDs. Good Stuff. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif I sent him a few e-mails to that extent.
