a lot depends on your expectations, and style of music you want to do.
and of course the condition of the instrument, as the 50s were when they were in the shops, new.. pawnbrokers thereafter.

the old ones can be, but they were pretty much knock-off's of the kalamazoo you have. just get a used eastman 505 or 515 if you want something newer, that is also a good mando at a decent price, or get an old made in japan kentucky (play it first).
