I have been playing for about three years and play primarily Irish Reels and such. #My teacher has gone to Ireland for a month and so I want to learn a "simple" entry level piece before he gets back. #I pick, light hammer on and slides. #Recommendations would be appreciated. #I can download and have purchased Amazing Slowdowner as I want to learn it by ear, which is his preferred method of teaching. #Any suggestion would be appreciated.

''Lost Indian'' is a nice, relatively simple tune with a nice 'minor' touch to it.''Clinch Mt.Backstep'' is another good one to try out.

You might loook st the "Murph Method" Monroe DVD. It would be consistant with you teachers methods and you could play him Big Mon when he returns.

Angelina Baker is a great one too, and fun to play at that.

"liberty" or the "girl i left behind me". they are fiddle tunes, but those are played in BG all the time, and are a big part of the foundation of BG mando playing (from what i've learned)
