As you may know, I bought the BRW LT-H4, which Jazzmando has reviewed; and my question is: What Jazz guitar do you all think would make a perfect match? I do play guitar, and in my set up, I don't have a Jazz box, so I am looking, reading up, and asking questions. I dig Joe Pass, Charlie Byrd, and I like Jobim. Anyhow, fill me in...thanks, dy.

P/S I did see a Mirabella Jazz Moderne Acoustic in Vintage Guitar that was cool, yet I would like to stick with an oval sound hole or round sound hole to match up with the BRW....

Why not ask Ben for his opinion? He has built guitars. I do not know if he still does but you can start there.

Hey Tom...I just got a reply back about the price for the Mirabella...how's about NOT!!! It starts at $10500.00. That is wild. I am going to look over at Eastman or a used Epiphone Howard Robers...I'll keep you posted, dy.

was a rather long time ago that gibby made an archtop oval hole combination.
since then everyone makes F holes when they make an archtop.
or so it seems..

I see Weber (Sound To Earth) is making arch top guitars. I played one at Grand Targhee this summer, and I thought it was pretty darn good.

In my experience, very few jazz guitars have round or oval holes. #Most are F-hole. #

For the money, I'd recommend the Heritage guitars (from the ex-Gibson Kalamazoo factory guys). #I have a Golden Eagle that I love. #I'd recommend getting one with floating pickups rather than top-mounted pickups, as the acoustic sound is generally better.

For the Charlie Byrd/Jobim sound, you need a nylon-string guitar, not a "jazz guitar" in the usual sense. #I'm partial to the Takamine EC-128s for an out-of-the-box plugged-in nylon-string sound.
