Yep, It's that time of year again. We are a group of old ##### that tries to get together once a week to jam. I fell into mandolin playing when a "real" bass player showed up.

We are not bluegrass!

Anyway, here's our set list for the show:

Brown Eyed Girl G
The Shape I'm In G
Ain't Misbehavin' F
Margaritaville D
Tequila Sunrise G
Independence Day E
I Shall Be Released G
Against the Wind G
Crazy G
Hotel California Em

Long Black Veil G
I Fall to Pieces A
Peaceful Easy Feeling D
Good Lovin' C
TheNightTheyDroveOldDixieDown C
Friend of the Devil G
Lyin' Eyes G
When I'm Sixty Four C
I'll Be Your Baby Tonight D
The Weight G

We will have: keyboards, electric bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin and the guitarist sings, his wife also sings leads and lots of backup, the bass player has a great voice.

Thought it is fairly diverse group of tunes!

Thanks, it went pretty well. I forgot my camera but I'll post a pic tomorrow.

First time ever playing through a pick up. I used the K&K through a small bass amp. People did say they could finally hear me, so I guess I get to go shopping soon!

Nope, we did get one I'd never heard of...

Is there a band named garbage? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Hey, that's a great music stand! Do you carry it with you everywhere you play? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Seriously, great setlist. I play in a three-piece cover band and we do most of those tunes as well. At a recent gig someone yelled out "Free Bird" and we whipped out the double-time blugrass version (sans 10 minute solo). That'll make him think twice 'bout yelling that out again!

We had someone yell out "Rocky Top" at a wedding that my daughter and I played at just before the wedding party was to walk down the aisle.

...we didn't play it.
