For all of you that suffered through the bad VHS copies of this film, a re-mastered and cleaned up version has just been released on DVD through Time-Warner. #I was at this festival and later quite by accident became the assistant editor on the project. #

Hey Doug! A friend just received his copy of this DVD and asks why most of the Del and the Dixie Pals footage from the original film was left out.

Can y'all list the performers? I would hazard Bluegrass 45, Ralph Stanley, Jim and Jesse, maybe New Deal Stringband.

Great, and where can one get?

Seems like the Monroe film High Lonesome has some of those clips.

I looked for it last week at my local Barnes&Noble and Borders - neither had it, but both could order it for me; I'm sure you can get it from their websites as well. #It is also available on Amazon. #I ended up getting mine at the Birchmere's gift shop, since I happened to be there to see the Seldom Scene.

I've got to get a copy also.
The New Deal String Band, (Leroy Savage, Frank Greathouse, etc.), were Newgrass way before anyone else.
Anyone else remember them? Their versions of'Love Potion #9' and 'One More Night' were killers.
And man, The Country Gentlemen were on the top of their game then!
And Crowe wearing the little scarves..cool!
