Hey everyone, ive been a acvtive reader for a while but have never had a reason to post till now. I am building mandos 2 and 3 but they are my first F styles. Everything is going well. The neck, back, rim are pretty much done. im getting ready to join the spruce top. Should I have the close grain in the center or do i want wide spaced grain or is it all relative to want tone I want? Any help is appreciated

The traditional wisdom seems to be: put the stiffer portion to the center. In most cases, this would be the tighter grain because tighter grain is usually stiffer than wide grain.
I'm not sure it really matters much whether you put the tighter grain to the center, but it will at least look more traditional.
