Like to share my unabashed admiration for someone that contacted me with an MP3 to share, which I have. His name is Rodrigo Lessa and there's a cut of him on the MP3 page (http://www.mandolincafe.com/mp3/). Like to hear more of this guy. Has several recordings out. Anyone else heard of him? From what I've heard he's another cat we should listening to.

Thanks for bringing him to our attention. Lovely music and playing.
The web site doesn't seem to work for me, tho.

Lots of great tunes on his site. I like the fact he has sheet music in pdf for just about every song

Yes, i believe he is the mandolin player for Nó em Pingo D'Água (http://www.noempingodagua.com.br/), a very good Brazilian progressive jazz group (similar style to Hamilton de Holanda). I believe my brother has had a couple of lessons with him. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Brother told me he's a very nice guy. I believe he's based in Rio de Janeiro - unfortunately, my family currently lives in São Paulo.

Another bandolim player ( 10 string) I've come across lately is Dudu Maia. #http://www.dudumaia.com
It appears from his site that he's currently performing in the US in my neck of the woods. #I haven't heard him but I'll try to get to one of his shows. #Has anyone heard his playing?

I just listened to some clips of his playing under "discos" on his site. Nice! 1x0 was interesting. Not the blazing speed that some people play it at. It's more "filled out". Nice tone too.
