as used by Jethro the 4 I know I really like and seem to
sound better than the two finger chords and are easyer to
play than four finger chords thanks fred

I second the Jethro Burns Complete Mandolin Books (through Mel Bay). Not only will you learn those chord forms but there is so much great material to work thru. Highly recommended!

Make sure you get a copy with the CDs

The "F" listed there is one of my favorites up and down the neck. Big time "cheater chop"; bar the G and D strings at the same fret the D and A string are fretted at and fret the A two frets higher and you have the IV, slide that up two frets and you have the V. Sounds good in 12 bar blues. When the tempo is really fast, the A string is optional.

btw, search YouTube.com for 'Homer and Jethro'. Some cool new additions, heavy on the Corn (Flakes).
