Here's my rendition of I think a Bill Monroe tune called Brown County Breakdown. Excuse the bad notes here and there.. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Hope you all enjoy it.

Nice job...but its called Brown County Barn..named after the barn at Beanblossom Indiana where Bills festival is held. The sight of many imfamous late night jam sessions.

Wow, I didn't know it was originally called Brown County Barn. That's interesting to know - a lot of people have misnamed this tune, evidently. Thanks for listening to the track!

The tune that Doug is playing is in fact Bill Monroe's (well, both tunes mentioned are his!) Brown County Breakdown.
This was recorded by Monroe and first appeared on the Decca album Bluegrass Instrumentals.
The Brown County Jamboree Barn (?) was recorded much later and appeared, as best I recalls, on Blue Grass '87 or some latterly Monroe recording.
Yes, nice job on it. You get the Monroe sound/drive.

Nice earthy feel. You're actually closer to the fiddle lead on the recording than
to Monroe's own playing.
