Mine came with one strap peg and I don't like the idea of having a strap around the nut. I'm also not nuts about drilling a hole for another peg. If I do drill a hole, where should I place it? Is it easy to get used to having the strap up by the nut?

I use braided rawhide shoelaces and tie it at the tail and through the tuning machines. I don't like having the rawhide against the nut, but it's no bother when it's across the peghead.

Then get a hook strap for a Classical / Flamenco guitar it goes around your neck, under the instrument and hooks into the edge of the soundhole. since you have a single soundhole.

Many people tie a cord around the peghead, I dont like it right behind the nut on my F hole A mandolin, so I tie it further out on the middle of the peghead.
My Gib A50 has no buttons , but there is a tunnel that I put a piece of bootlace thru and tied a stopper knot inthe end of the lace..

the hole is, and its location discussed at length in the past, site has whole archive of that spielunk those archives.

I use a thin leather strap, and am able to pass it under the fingerboard and around the back of the neck joint.

I use a Spurgeon strap, tied around the peghead (not next to the nut). Like you, I thought I wouldn't like it there, but it works well.

yep. right in the middle of the peghead works for me and I use my strap around my head not on 1 shoulder. I don't even notice it when I am playing.

#Is it easy to get used to having the strap up by the nut?
Absolutely. #I was a little concerned at first, but it really isn't a structural problem or in the way at all. #I made my own strap from an old belt and braided shoelaces.

Great! I'll order a strap and give it a shot. Thanks!

I made mine for my Mid-Mo from parachord type boot laces. 3 72" laces and a couple wood beads from a craft store. you can Google the instructions for an easy triple braid. Toss in a couple half hitches to hold the ends in place and your good to go. To be honest if you buy 1 braided strap you will see how easy it is to do yourself. There are a couple Cafe members that make nice straps. check the classifieds. Support the site and its members. I bought all my other straps from members.
