Looks to be very solid and has an adjustable bridge... waiting for the guy to answer me as to whether or not it might be a solid wood soundboard... But I can't find ANY mention of Encore mandolins anywhere on the next. Makes me hesitant to purchase it!

I had one which was my camping/holiday/beach beater. I've given it to my sister, so I can't tell you what model it was, but certainly an Encore.
Could never find out much about it actually, and it didn't say on the instrument itself where it came from. I assume it was some sort of Pacific rim thing but where exactly i couldn't tell you.
It wasn't too bad. It played ok, and sounded better than you might have expected, but that's all I could give it. It isn't a great instrument by any means, but I've certainly seen a lot worse. Unless it's really cheap I don't think I would bother.
