Anybody know of a used (or new) Price and Nelson Mandolin Case hanging around anywhere? #There is a great picture up of them here:
http://www.telepath.com/~ghprice/pricnels.htm

Has anyone ever seen or used one? #How do they compare to Calton, Pegasus?

If you know of a used presto or calton, I'd be interested in that, too. #
Thanks for the help.

Thanks, Maverick. What do you (or anybody else) know about Anvil Flight cases? Good? Bad? Heavy?

I have a Price & Nelson case and a custom 'Anvil' case, so I guess I can offer commentary.
A carpenter friend built me the 'Anvil' case out of stock parts; used 3/4" marine grade plywood. Did the interior himself. A good bit of room inside for junk. #I suspect there is about 1/2" padding between the top & bottom and the mandolin. #The top and bottom are both flat, no curvature. # It is an extremely heavy road case. #It is also quite heavy. #It makes a good impromptu picking stool at a jam session tho, something probably no other mandolin case can do.
I decided to get the Price & Nelson because I wanted a somewhat lighter case. #It is somewhat lighter (I don't have their repective weights at hand; I recall the P & N is about 11lbs, tho) and probably equally protective. The top & bottom are curved, so there is probably more padding between the instrument & outside shell. #The P & N has a good bit of interior space as well.
I had case covers made for both with pockets, so I have even more space for whatever.
I am surprised the P & N isn't more popular; it is an outstanding heavy duty case. I also like the looks of it as well.

He still shows it on his website, tho. Not a recent inventory note tho.
