I recently purchased an A9 and love the tone, the only problem is at the 12th fret, the low and high string play the same note at the 13th, 14th, and 15th fret, the middle two don't do this, I am not sure if i have a fret that is too high, or what the problem is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Sounds like the 15th fret is lifting out at the ends. A simple matter to deal with but the fret needs to be removed and reshaped before reinstalling. Probably best to get it to a good repair person. There may well be other frets lifting out as well. If you tap the fret ends with a small metal object you should get a sharp click, not a dull sound. If you get a dull sound that area is loose. Often the center of the frets are well locked into the fingerboard and provide a sharp click while the ends are lifting slightly and give a duller response. Loose frets suck the power out of the strings, and there goes your volume.

Thanks guys, maybe I will try new strings first just to make sure they arn't the problem.

Also can a guitar luthier do this, as there are no mando luthiers that I know of in my area

thanks.
