can somebody please comment on this? #i accidentally moved the upper part of the bridge, base did not move, but i was messing with it and pulled the upper part away from the direction of the fret board (toward back of mandolin). #didn't move it far, but the sound now is "tinny" even though i'm in tune and intonation checks out at 12th fret ok. # i'm wondering what i did and if there is a way to adjust the tinny sound, particularly the A strings.

If you moved the tip of the bridge, where the saddle rests, but not the rest of the bridge (and if, as you say, the feet of the bridge remained where they were) it could simply be that the feet are no longer in full contact with the top of the instrument. That, for one, would certainly cause the sound to be thin, as the vibrations of the string would not be fully transmitted through the bridge to the top. Just a guess.

Can you post a detailed image, i.e. in close-up?

Best of luck with this.
