Niles,
Thanks for the schedule. Any idea what kind of mandos Eric has? I remember seeing the Hooters featuring all sorts of electic hybrids.

I got serious with the mando after hearing Eric's simple but haunting intro to "St. Teresa" from Joan Osborne's smash album "Relish".
I always had the impression, though, that Bazilian was a casual mandolin player (not unlike Peter Buck's dabbling on REM's "Losing My Religion").
Any recommendations for other tracks that showcase Bazilian's mandolin?

No, Bazilian knows what he's doing. He played a great mandolin solo (including some slide) on "I Want To Believe" on the Sass Jordan album Racine.
<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>Sass Jordan did a couple of great hard rocking albums in the early 90's - Racine (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:8u68mp939foo) and Rats (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:8qd7gjqr86in). The former has a real Stones/Faces feel while Rats is one of the hardest rocking female vocalist albums ever - she sounds like a female Bob Seger fronting Robin Trower's band! After Sammy Hagar left and Van Halen was loking for a replacement she auditioned and those idiots rejected her down cause of 'the boob thing'. (Unfortunately, her later albums were much more mainstream due to the record companies.)
If anyone has some live stuff (audio or video) of her during the Racine/Rats period, let me know.</span>

Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman were on Mountain Stage recently. You can download an MP3 of the whole 2 hour show here. (http://www.wvpubcast.org/av/MS061507Adams.mp3)
They play first. Or see the link lower right at http://www.mountainstage.org
Cowboy Junkies are later in the set, Jeff Bird is playing his 4-string EM-200 with them. He's doing the lead parts#on "Follower 2" that sound like a second electric guitar. Can't hear him as well on the other two songs, but he's doing the sustain parts.
