Sorry to ask a question that is not strickly for a mando, but while I'm waiting on my ordered inlay for three f5's I have in progress I'm tearing apart a cheap Viola to repair and try to make a little better (for myself). Does anyone here who works on them have any idea of what the recurve thickness should be for an average spruce top and maple back on a Viola. While I have it apart, I would like to get it as close to what it should be if I can. I have found that the finger spacing on the viola is close to a mando and it's easer for my fat fingers to play then my fiddle.
Thanks,
Bill P.

I'll bet Ken can answer this in his sleep if he sees it.

Well it's been just about a week and no help yet. Do any of you fine folks know of some place on the web I can look to find out this thickness? I did some googling and could not find any thing on Violas. (just pretend it's a fretless mando)
Thanks,
Bill P.
