Hi All,
I am getting ready to "attempt" to teach a friend some songs from TAB but instead of sitting down to pencil out with a straight edge four lines (representing the mandolin strings) across several sheets of paper I am trying to locate a site (if possibly found on this one) of where I could download blank TAB graphs to save me some time and go right to laying out the fingered notes for some songs in mind.
Any suggestions of where I may find this to download or a place to purchase these sheets that are ready to work on?
Thanks folks! I appreciate the help! # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif

One More thing. This may seem as a stupid question... I see where the cafe has chord arrangements for both right and left handed folks. As far as writing out fingering (TAB) on the correct lines (Top being the Open E string and Bottom being Open G) then it should still read the same for anyone right or left handed, correct?
I'm assuming this would be correct, providing that for the left handed mandolinist he or she has had their mandolin restrung EADG, and not turned around to have the open strings GDAE? Thanks again! #

I made this a while ago. The first page is straight mando tab and the second has standard notation lines above mando tab lines.

Thanks to you too, JEStanek! So you're saying either way in notation or TAB it should just be written out the same way for right or left handed players to read (?)
One other question for both you and "psann" what are the three lines at the top of each page used for? #Thanks again! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
An alternative is to just use the standard notation paper and write the finger position for the four strings in the four spaces. The advantage is that you don't have a line running through the number.

The three lines at the top are for Tune name, arranger, title information, yadda yadda yadda.

Alternate trick if you want control of the number of lines in a tab-line, amount of space in-between, etc.: create a sheet (document) in your word-processor. Each full line across the page is just an "underscore" that goes all the way. Repeat as many times as you need to build one tab-line; adjust font-size to adjust the spaces; copy/paste as many times as you need to fill a page. So easy a banjo player can do it (I'm the proof!). -- Paul

2nd alternate trick: download the free demo of TablEdit (www.tabledit.com (http://www.tabledit.com/download/downlo_e.shtml)) and just create a new tab... That way, you can select Staff+Tab, Tab alone, Staff alone, keys, time signatures, measures numbering, etc, etc http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks again everyone for the help in locating the TAB graphs! #
Now, does any one know where I can obtain/download "Blank" chord (grids) so I can write down "left handed" chord charts? I know the cafe has the chords themselves available but I think I can only download one chord on a page at a time (if possible). It would be easier for me to just write them in myself on a page with sevral blank grids.
Thanks again, folks! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif

I may be able to help again...
I made these awhile back to write scales and chords for a key. The back side is all chord writing space.
