Had the pleasure of playing Lane Pryce's (JLP) new Mowrey A model last night. I was VERY impressed with this instrument. The thread in the Post A Picture forum gives a good insight into the workmanship and beauty of the instrument. The most impressive thing though, is the sound. Even with the red spruce top, it already sounds like it has several years of playing in under it's belt. It has excellent balance across the strings and very clear, crisp individual notes. My favorite thing is the G and D strings. They already have that "growl" in them that is so characteristic of the red spruce and varnish. If anyone is in the market or under the influence of MAS, I would highly recommend checking out a Mowrey!
