Hey there, I am in the scene/I live in the city (actually in Decatur) and I would be happt to tell you whats up about the city. Every thursday is a jam downtown at the redlight cafe-jam7-9 bands play 9-11. Costs 3 dollars w/instrument, 5 without. My band, the Dappled Grays, are playing this thursday so there will probably be some good jamming going on outside-even while we are playing inside. Also, about 45 minutes outside of ATL is the historic Everettes pickin barn. Been going on every Sat night for over 40 years. It is a house with probably at least 50 pickers a night and a barn out back where lots of great bands play-sometimes 3rd time out comes, Larry Stephenson, Lost and Found etc.. play. Free to jam-all of the local pickers and some nationaly known pickers have cut there teeth there including Jeff Autrey, Wayne Benson, Vestel and others. I definately recomend going.
