..and a sample of just one of the pics...this portfolio has everything Monteleone had to offer back in 1988..from the style "A" mando to the Grand Artist...Im gonna put this item in the classifieds For Sale or Trade...for I have no use for it...I would think a Monty offeciando would like to have this in their collection....
those were the good old days!

I was lucky and got my GA mandola in 1985. I called him a year later thinking I would get a mandolin and asked for the "repeat offender" price. I think it was around $3k. Stupidly, I didn't do it.

Some very cool pics. I got a different set of pics. The pics i got were 4 front and back shots,3 by 6 photos, No portfolio ,and showed what I could expect to get including a flowerpot inlay. When I finally got it ,my biggest suprise was that he had stopped doing the flowerpot inlay, and had not told me about it. I was actually pretty mad,and felt taken advantage off. #I did'nt mention it before.. .but.. The New York UPS driver who came to pick up the mando for shipment was on his first day on the job and instead of the blue air delivery label, put on a yellow ground delivery label. They (UPS) lost track of the mando, and it was listed LOST and traveling around the continent for 13 days before it came to Canada Customs in Winnipeg. UPS ,in those 13 days ,never told me they found it, and I was in daily contact with New York UPS. The day I got the call from Can. Customs,it was still listed by them as lost and was the best thing I could have heard.! My phone bill from that month was $135.00 between my phoning John, and UPS New York. PS the exchange rate for Can-US money was HORRIBLE at that point and I got a Can Customs bill for $600 or $700 bucks. Does that explain the $ s?

..I will add that each pic has a full bio of the instrument along with options on the back....a very professional presentation...top shelf...also...the pics are much, much better quality than what you see here...the lost alot of the sharpness during the scanning process...

Want to see history repeat itself?
Go to Michael Lewis' Website (http://www.michaellewisinstruments.com) and print yourself off a copy of his prices. Let's have a similar conversation in another 15 years...

..the neat thing is that there are several builders we could say this about 15 years from now...
