So I've been working on Wheel Hoss. I haven't been able to get a strong, yet clean run. Then I realized (5 minutes ago) - Maybe I have to momentarily touch/rest/make contact with the next course with the pick.
I.e.:
The first two notes are G and B, both on the G string. I realized I never make full, conscious contact with the D string on the downstroke of that first G note. I was just now doing drills on the G string to try to get my right hand smooth, and when it was sounding clean, I realized that the pick was making full contact with the D course! I then tried doing this regularly with all strings. I.e. on the downstrokes of the G strings, touch the D course. On the downstrokes on the D course, rest on the A course. Fully. CONFIDENTLY.
Is this what I should have been doing up till now and should keep doing? Is this what all you hotshots do?? Is this what Monroe did?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?
If I get strong feelings on this, it could alter my playing forever. (no pressure or anything)
