I recently bought a pickguard for my 1920 F4 that is of the same era probably within a year or so. Unfortunately the pin holes along the fingerboard don't line up with those on the guard. I thought it would be better to drill new holes in the guard rather than the instrument. The holes in the F4 go in at a 45 degree angle so to make the pins I was going to use some brass pins and cut the heads off then bend them at the correct angle. I was able to find pins with the same diameter as the holes. To drill the guard I plan to clamp it to piece of wood for stability and then drill two new holes in the side using my drill press and a new 1/16 bit. Has anyone done this. I don't want to screw anything up here, any suggestions?

Never mind, I got it done. It went to together with no problems.
