Holy crap, that is the funniest thing I have read in a while. Dang, it does sound like something I would try to use to build a mandolin however. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

no offense to anyone but my experience with Ryobi tools fell along the same lines as his...they suck. For routers I prefer Bosch or Porter Cable.

That made my day!
But seriously, this is the kind of crap they're trying to pawn off as tools at HD and Wallyworld. Don't be fooled by the "bargain prices". Your much better off either buying something that costs more than $49.95, or scrounging up and old American-made tool at an auction or used tool store.
My education came when I decided to finally get a jointer.
I went to a big home improvement center, and got a tabletop Delta with aluminiun fences.I was so naive at the time that I thought since it was Delta, it was American. As I was humping it into the house,I first saw the "made in Taiwan" on the box. I turned around and took it back. They acted like I was crazy, but did the refund.
Further research revealed that you couldn't get an American jointer, no matter how much you were willing to spend. Luckily, here in Denver is a great wooworking tool store (Schlosser) with a reconditioned tool warehouse. I got what must be a '50's-'60's Delta that can double as an anvil with freshly sharpened blades for about the same as the new junky Delta. And this one will still be working into the next millenium.

As one who works with power-tools daily, the better tool equals the better job, done faster and most importantly easier and better at the same time. The extra money spent on quality tools will repay ya on a daily basis for years to come!

It's not just tools either. Cheap ain't always a bargain!
I think that guy is finally getting something for his money, tho. There are things more fun, but he did have fun!http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

my router table tends to have a few beer cans on it, but not as legs. that's funny stuff. yep, ryobi tools kinda suck. i've been through a 10" chop saw, and a table saw in less than a year's time. their 18v cordless set is however a great value for the money.

I can't believe someone paid 26 bucks for it. With a review like that what kind of guy would do it? John

Think about it John, maybe the bidder is getting a great video! That could be more valuable than the measly few bucks he bid. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Oh My Gosh !!! That has got to be the funniest thing I have EVER read ! I laughed so hard , snot flew from the nose and tears from the eyes ! I think I've maybe bought a few tools like that from country auctions . You know the kind , where there is some indescribable object that you absolutly can't live without , in a box with a whole bunch of things you would never want your luthier buddies to see in your shop. But you bid on the whole mess , just for the one weird thing that you KNOW you can turn into the perfect gizmo , that will take you to the next level of mando-building madness ! Yeah , I can relate . The thing that amazed me was , someone actually bought the darn thing from him !!!!! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
