I'm a beginning mandolin student. I'm learning to play classical (Italian) style mandolin. I have a beautiful sounding Vega bowlback. I've read and heard that the Colace Carbonsteel Round Wound strings from Dogal Strings Factory are the best for older bowlbacks as they combine beautiful sound with minimal tension to the instrument. I'm just curious to hear how others may feel about the best sounding strings for my mandolin. Also, does anyone know if Dogal has changed their e-mail. I can't seem to get through to find any info regarding how to order these strings RW92B (set/soft tension)
Thank you..

Welcome Greg!
The folks in the classical section just had a wonderful conversation on classical strings. (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=6;t=30554) I suggest you start there.
