I find I may be selling my 90 Gibson f5l and would still need to have aprofessional quality axe in the 2000 to 2500 range what seems to be most consistent and resaleable? IM thinkin hard on a f9 Gibson.

That would be a good choice. I alternate between an F5-L and an F-9 all the time. There have been a couple of used ones for sale in the classifieds that have been cheaper than that.
you could find an A5L from the same time period in that range also.

Elderly's got two A5Ls at $2500 plus an A5G for $1650 and a Summit F-100S for $2245. Then there's that Phoenix Bluegrass for $2500 in the classifieds. I think any of these would be good substitutes.

Sorry downgrading is not allowed under MAS rules unless it's accidental http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
This is a phase of MAS where you sell your really nice mando, buy something less great, regret it, save up, buy something better etc. until you have soemthing as nice as you used to and find your wallet all beat up from the trip.
Keep it if you can.

Maybe you'll get lucky like I did, run across a great deal, and wind up with an upgrade for less $ instead of a downgrade!

I agree totally Ive done it before. I guess downgrade is not a good description I was hoping to get a great sounding and playing mandolin and pocket the cash for immediate relief of financial stress. Mark
What the heck, you might even like the Phoenix Bluegrass better than your Gibson.
