Weather Checking

How do you make very slight weather checking disappear from a nitro finish? If this were my instrument I'd leave it alone, but the owner wants it to look new. It's on the side, just to the bass side of the end pin, near the back binding. It's a Martin Guitar.

Spray it with butyl cellosolve, "lacquer melt", IBIB, MAK, or other slow evaporating solvent, let it dry, wet sand, and buff.
That will make it look as good as possible, but it depends on how old the lacquer is whether or not the checks will dissapear.
