View Full Version : Waste Wood Question

I realize this is a strange question but ....
I rough carved the inside of a top with a chisel today and eneded up with a pile of nice 8"-9" spruce strips each about .2"-.3" thick.
Seems like a waste to just throw them all away.
Do any of you "recycle" your waste wood?
The only two applications I can think of right now are mulch and kindling.
What do you do with yours and are there any other mando related applications which I should save some for?
Thanks,
Pete

Well, you just might be a natural at this stuff. I use my shavings for lighting the wood stove in the winter, and what I don't use that way I spread around for mulch.

Wood stove starting. You should see the players flinch when I throw scraps of birdseye in!

I use it in the shop wood stove and the wife takes the finner stuff (almost dust) for mulch.

Keep your maple seperate == BBQ yum yum.
How about using the top plane shavings, cedar in particular, for pet hamster bedding. Seems to be the same as what they sell in pet stores.
