Im looking to buy a mandolin, is it worth it to get an Acoustic/Electric or should i just stay with acoustic and save some money?

Well that depends, what sort of music are you going to play on it? Where are you going to play it? Are you going to play gigs or with some plugged in rock group, or just hit bluegrass jams? You can always get a pickup later, too.

Or you could just played into a microphone. #I know lots of mandolin players who do not have pick-ups that play in live settings. And like peterbc said, you can always add one later if needed.
