Just heard it on GMA a little while ago. Has anyone
done a bluegrass version. Seems like with a little tweeking
it could be a good one.

Is Jacob's Ladder the same as Jacob's Vision? If so, it was recorded in the 50's by the Stanley Bros. Skaggs recorded it with guests Ralph Stanley & George Shuffler.

Never heard of Jacob's Vision...course there's hundreds
I havent discovered yet. The ladder is very repentitive
The ladder is a good name cause theres a few key changes
each getting higher as though one is climbing a ladder. Of
course those are the words of the song as well.
I could just hear a mandolin, maybe even a banjo and a
heavy bull bass keeping the time.

the chorus to Jacob's Vision is:
Hallelujah to Jesus who died on the tree,
To raise up his ladder of mercy for me,
Press onward climb upward the top is in view,
There's a crown of bright glory a waiting for you.

Actually I've been noodling around with Jacob's Ladder on the mandolin.
Are we talking about Jacob's Ladder off of the Rush Permenant Waves album 1980? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Bruce Springsteen did it in the 80's. That's the one I
had reference to....

Bruce Hornsby wrote the "Jacobs Ladder" that Bruce Springsteen performed.
Maybe there is a version of Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs playing it together somewhere out there....
