In researching this topic, the best solution I've found is the Gotoh mini-tuners. Don't see why this wouldn't work for either A- for F-styles.
Anyone have any thoughts on this, or any better solution? Thanks.

August--
After shopping around for tuners for the octave mandolin I just built, I ended up using what were being sold as ukulele tuners being sold on ebay. These were indeed Gotoh brand and work really well. I also liked the color choices. I chose what was called "amber" buttons on gold hardware. The fellow I dealt with (Asa) was very helpful and prompt in service. YOu can see photos showing the tuners on my website. There is a link on the page to that ebay store.

Actually, if I were going to make a 10 string cittern (or whatever you call it), I might look into the possibility of buying inline mini guitar tuners and sawing one of the tuners off. Weight of tuners at the end of a long neck really #adds to physical demands of playing. The lighter you can make it, the better.

Deval (http://www.deval.com.br/) in Brazil sells tuners for the ten-string viola caipira that have five tuners on a plank.
Look under Tarraxa, then Viola. #There's an email link for info. #Photo link. (http://www.deval.com.br/Site/Tarraxas/400pixels/viola5.gif)
