My friend Bryan Kimsey will be there. He's a luthier and the instrument "doc" for the camps. Look him up while you there, John. Great guy and a great picker on mando or guitar.

Im going to a Kaufman workshop in Dallas next week. I'll let you know what I think. (BTW, its my first workshop, so I don't have much of a frame of reference)

I'll be going to the camp in June. It sounds like a great time. This will be my first camp so any info on what to expect would be great. We should get a list of who's going so we can hook up when we get there.:)

I've been to two of Steve's Kamps. '96 Flatpicking Kamp and '98 Mandolin Kamp. I'd go every year if I win the lottery. I'm still working on the material I got at both.
Plus, East Tennessee ain't a bad spot to hang out, even for someone from God's Country.

I went last year and am going again this year. One of the best musical experiences I've had. The evening concerts alone are worth the price of the camp and the instructors are the best.

I can't wait! I've never even been to that part of the country, I'm in Colorado. I went to Rockygrass Acedemy last year, but this year I'm trying out the KAMP! Hope it's as good as everyone says. I really am looking forward to it.

I have attended the Kamp and enjoyed it. #Mandobear is right. #The evening concerts are the best and worth the price of admisson. Plenty of picking. #Clamdigger

How'd I almost miss this. Plano man, how much is the Charley's Guitar shop deal? I live in Coppell and am about 15 minutes away and would love to attend.
Thanks,
Paul

That's right, its $35. Just call Charley's to register. Should be a good time and it will be fun to meet other MC denizens

Guess I am an "advanced beginner". I have been playing for 1.5 years and practice an hour a day. Don't think I am a born musician or anything like that. Look forward to seeing everyone there. I will be the old coot with white hair and well worn midmo

Kaufman Kamp-1st class! Been twice (99&02). It was Wed.-Sun. when I was there. It's a week now and of course cost more. Everyone talks about school, college food being so bad. Heck, As soon as I seen grandmaws in the kichen I knew I would be fine. The food was great.
TIP, Get a skateboard bag from a youngun and carry everything together( mando, textbook, stuff you buy, etc.) Just thow it over your shoulder and go. Sometimes it's a long walk back to your room.
Have fun- You'll love it.

What is this "Charley's guitar shop deal"?

If you pay your tuition etc...for the mandolin camp, does that include everything, or do the concerts cost extra or what?

The "Charley's guitar shop thing" is the the Kaufman workshop in Dallas next Thursday (which is april 15 so you might not have the $35 left over for the registration fee).
