Just received an email from Allen Jones (builder of Glenn mandolins) and he told me that he is going to have a stent put in a coronary artery this week. #Says he will be good as new next Monday. #He is getting ready to start some work on my 94 Flatiron Festival A, and of course I told him to take his time. #His health is more important than my mandolin. #Keep Allen in your thoughts and prayers!

I join you in wishing Allen well, also. I had 3 stents inserted in my right coronary artery on March 6, and aside from some post-procedure discomfort, I was feeling great almost immediately afterwards.
All the best, Allen!

I wish Allen a speedy recovery. I received a new Glenn F5 from him about 6 weeks ago.He was very easy to deal with and the F5 he sent me sounds great. It is soooo-woody with lots of volume. I have gotton lots of good comments about its looks and sound. Thanks Allen Get Well Soon!
All the best to Allen...but my uncles also had a quick recoveries. One was back at competitive tennis within a week or two...Still, Allen, be good and don't force it...

I received an email from Allen Jones today. #He had the stent placed in his coronary artery on Thursday and now he says he feels better than he has in years. #Thank you to those who were kind enough to post their best wishes for Allen!

I missed this somehow. I hope Allen has a speedy and complete recovery. I enjoy my Glenn mandolin very much, and appreciate not only the artistry, but also the general goodness that went into it. Allen is a great guy, honest as the day is long. And he makes really good instruments, which he offers to the world at amazingly fair prices.
Get well soon!

I heard from Allen yesterday too and he said the same thing. Said he hasn't felt this good in years. He is just as Mark discribed. Such a good, kind and generous soul who does great work. He was almost at the end of constructing my husband's mando when I learned he was having trouble. Despite my telling him to please take care of himself first and that I didn't care when it arrived, he still carried through. If you read this Allen, God Bless you and I am so happy you are feeling good!
