A few days ago I decided to travel down to Brighton (I live in Scotland!) to visit The Acoustic Music Company with the intention of buying a new mandolin. When I got down there I found the staff to be more than helpful with their time and advise. In particular the owner, Trevor, had come into the shop on his day off to help me out and talk through the differences between the instruments! After many hours of fiddling around on various instruments I eventually settled on a Capek F5 Basic. The shop is a mandolin players HEAVEN! Amazing collection of quality hand-built instruments, plus the advice and help of a great team! What more do you want? If you're ever in the South-East, or the UK for that matter you really should take time out to visit TAMCO. Shops like this are pretty rare these days in the UK, if not the world!
Here's their website : http://www.theacousticmusicco.co.uk

Thanks for your kind words. There is nothing I enjoy more than going through all the mandolins with a customer and explaining all the differences and similarities (then I try to give them a little piece and quiet to play a while without me blabbing).

I just received my Moon octave mandolin from TAMCO last week. It arrived in flawless condition and I'm having a blast learning to play it. The whole transaction took less than a week from my online order to it's arrival on my doorstep. The shipping cost was nicely offset by the subtraction of the VAT. I'm a happy customer and would cheerfully order from them again.

Thanks Trevor...experiencing good customer service is always a pleasure.
