I.S.O. 17" Mandola Template

Hey there folks. I'm in the planning stage of my first Mandola and was wondering if there was anyone here that could mock me up a 'fake' fretboard with a 17" scale. I know there are many computer programs that will give you the specs, but honestly i'm not that accurate with a steel rule when it comes to 4 and 5 digits after the decimal, and i definetly don't trust my $50 printer to do any printable version !! I'll gladly pay for any time and of course shipping if anyone can help. Again, it can be a piece of pine of plywood for all i care, just something i can use to make up a plexi-template for the table saw.

Talk to Steve Smith from Cumberland Acoustic (http://cumberlandacoustic.com/index.html). I ordered a mandolin fretboard from him for about $20. You might ask him about the price difference between a mandolin and a mandola fretboard.

I bought a 17" scale FB from LMI not too long ago, if you want to go that way.

I also got a fingerboard from lmi. Ordered the rosewood mando board preslotted to 17"(baritone uke, I think)scale. It was 1/4 x 14 x ~2 tapered. I spec'd 21 frets, and got about 1 1/2" unslotted board at the bridge end. It was about $14 total plus shipping. Of course I ordered a lot of other stuff while I was "there".

Thanks a bunch for the info guys ! I'm going to look into L.M.I. this afternoon, I can't see paying and expensive ' set-up ' charge. Where i work , we charge a major company a $325 ' set-up' charge to make a product. That 'set-up ' involves removing 4 screws from a stage and replacing it with another stage, so i'm a bit hesitant!!!
