What's with the red binding in the first shot? don't look like tape. Is it a different mando?
That quilt is beautiful!!!!!

Im guessing the red is painters tape, like the kind use for creating flames or pin stripes and various other patterns. Im guessing he uses it so he has a lot less binding scraping to do.

Thanks a lot, folks! Yes, the red binding is just plastic tape. I cover up most of the binding, leaving just a little line next to the wood to scrape, which seems to save some time and make my scraping a little cleaner. It's the best tape I've found, but I wish it wasn't red, because it has a way of making all my stains look really nasty until I get a sealer coat on and take the tape off.

I like the endpin with the big loop! I can't see a strap slipping off of that too easily.

Looks great, that is an awesome quilted back. The stain really brought out the grain. Enjoy your new Mando!

I am a Mowry mandolin owner myself.
I am sure that mandolin will sound just as good as it looks.
