I'm going to see Lost & Found tonight at the local bluegrass club. Dempsey has always been one of my favorite mandolin players. He is also knowledgeable about the music industry in general and always has a good story to share.
Enjoy his pickin, I know I do.

Saw them last summer at RudyFest in Grayson, KY.
Great show.
L&F, Larry Cordle, Lonesome River Band played. Doesn't get much better than that!

Well, another great show as usual. I always enjoy their shows. I've been listening to them since 1983 when I met them at a festival I played at. Since my father-in-law is a festival promoter, I have got to see L&F many, many times through the years and have got to share many meals with them.
Dempsey's playing is unique and so is his mandolin. I asked him about leaving it to me in his will, but he said I would have to get in line. What a mandolin. It has such a unique sound and it plays so easily. If you have never had a chance to hear L&F, you don't know what you are missing.
Glad you enjoyed the show. I have every recording they have done, save the first. Good tunes, good playing/arranging. Of course, the mainstays have been Allen and Dempsey. Their banjo pickers down throught the years have all bee solid, with their own styles - Gene Parker for many, many years, Lynwood Lunsford, Ben Green, now Ron Smith, who is just as great as the forebears.
And yes, his Hutto is a fine axe. He played my F-5 on a L&F set once and he said he actually prefers his Hutto (see, I knew he wasn't right in the head http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif )
