Yes, for the second time, with mando and fiddle in hand. Had a great time last year! In the meantime, I'll be teaching at the upcoming Mandolin Camp North in April.

This must be a fun event. I have to work. But I get lots of visitors during that time. Kamp is about 10 miles away.

I'll be going, too. Kind of expensive but I heard it is a fantastic musical experience. I'm meeting two old buddies who play guitar and banjo so we'll have a band right off the bat. I'll have my Collings and Brentrup with me so come up and say hello and strum my mando(s). Later, Chuck

I've gone to Kaufman Kamp a couple times...good times. This year I'm making the trek to Santa Cruz for the Mandolin Symposium. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'll be in the beginners group for my first Kamp experience and would be interested in where everyone is coming from.

I plan on showing up at night to pick a little, can't afford the $700 smackerooo's this year, i'm just an hour away.
I did go a couple years ago but as a guitarist and leaving at the end of kamp was one of the saddest days I can remember. I had a GREAT time, all you did all week long was think, eat and drink music. I really hope next year i'll have the forsight to save a little and get the time off so I can attend. BUT it'll be in the mandolin kamp.

I was very close to going, but I have to take a class for my other job (English Teacher). I was very disappointed. I had everything all lined up, then bam! The only classes I can take are in June, July, and August. On the bright side, I'll finish my program this summer and have a little extra money to go next year.
I'll definitely stop by your place, Steve, when I get to go to the Kamp. You should check into being one of the Kamp Doctors. Steve always has a few people there who do setups and things. all day, every day.

Hey, Big Mike!
I'll just say I went out to Weber's Kauffman event last year and it was great. Steve was a great guy, and meeting everybody at STE was a memory I cherish.
Highly recommended to all.

I'll be in mandolin Kamp again this year! Enjoyed it tremendously last year, and am looking so forward to it again.

Hey, Proulx. Did you come away with some tools to be a better player? Or, was it just more leisurely fun?
