What type of tuners come standard on an F9 ? I am looking at buying one built in 2003. Also, can the satin gloss be buffed to shine a bit more or does the lacquer have flatners in it to limit the sheen ?

The 2003 F9 will have Schaller tuners and the lac finish can be buffed to a high gloss. I have seen several done using the Mcguiers auto polishes. Lp

As far as the buffing regimen: any suggestions on the polish number(s) ? I understand that there are quite a few different polishes in their arsenal.

There's a lot of talk on the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum site about buffing Martin's 15 series guitars to a gloss. I did my 00-15 to a nice "semi gloss" with a few applications of Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax (one product). Most recommend using a three-step process (also Meguiar's) which I do not remember the specifics of. You can try to search there or just ask.
FYI, I tried the same technique on a small part of my matte-finish Rigel A-Natural and it didn't work anywhere near as well. Rigel says matte and means it, I guess!
