I bought it, but didn't recive yet. I'm so exciting if I made a good decision? All I heard about they are high- level mandolins.

I'd have expected your question to this forum BEFORE winning an auction, not after! I hope it's better than your wildest dream. I've never heard of them before.
Keep us posted.

You wont be disapointed with your new axe. I play one and it is about the loudest, woodiest mando Ive ever heard. I know Jeremy sort-of and you got the mando of a lifetime for 2 grand. If I had the cake you would have never won that auction because I would have bought it from him outright. Mine likes J-75's and let me know what you think after you scrape your chin off the floor.

Janusz,
Please let us know what you think about your Kettler after you receive it. I suspect you are going to be pleased with it. I had to pass on one when it became available quite a while back but was able to direct a friend to it. He will not part with it. The sound is huge! frussell bought a fairly worn one a while back of of Ebay and he too reported his to be quite the player.
Good luck and don't forget to give a revue.

Several decades ago, I took lessons from Orin Starr (or is it Orrin Star). His main mandolin at the time was a Kettler. He may actually still have it. As I recall the peghead inlay was of a frog.

While that may be true, he used to own/play a Kettler. I'm sure you could ask him his opinion on the maker via email at his web page, if you were interested.

Janusz,
It's a good thing you didn't ask ahead of time, we would have all started watching and bidding on it instead of you! Can't wait to hear what you think of it.
Bill,
Thanks for the picture of the A, hadn't seen one so far.

I knew a fellow that had an F and an A model and I would rate then as good as anything out there...I have looked for one for awhile but already have five mandos so I gave up finding one...I believe Kettler lives in New England, seems like it is Conn...don`t quote me on that now....Willie

Hi everyone, my new Kettler F5 arrived in Wasaw yesterday. My very first impresion was ,,it's very old indeed''. It had no strings and few plants of use. New J-74s made my ears and my heart very happy. This is the sound I was looking for for years. Today my new mandolin plays better then yesterday. It was very good choice, wildest day are over. There only left to play as often as I can.
