I've decided to take it up a notch and go for the premium strings. #I've gotten recommendations for the John Pearse's. #I'm wondering what set might sound better on my Phoenix Bluegrass:

Mediums: 11, 14, 25, 39

Heavies: 12, 15, 26, 40

My mando is designed for both "medium-heavy to heavy" strings (from the Phoenix site). #Are the JP mediums too light?

I'm thinking the heavies, which have all the same gauges as the J74s except the E, might provide a better tone.

I always appreciate any help.

Edit: I now see that J74s are considered medium-light strings. The J75s (mediums) have a G string with a 41 gauge. Should I consider even heavier strings than the John Pearse heavies? I can't even find heavy mando strings on Eldery...

I've used J/P heavies for years I wouldn't use anything else I can't stand a light a" or e" string Ricky
