Does a bone nut instead of micarta make that much improvement to the tone on a mandolin?
I know with guitars it does.

I would say the odds are in your favor of hearing an improvement in your mandolin. However it depends more on the characteristics of the mandolin. Most noticable will be the tone of the open strings. Don't forget the setup. Lp
