Hi, my old mandolin is crap now, so i'm looking for a modest mandolin under $150. Maybe one for $200, i dont know...
Thanks.
I think you should look at Kentucky A-styles at that price range...perhaps used for an all solid-wood one.

You won't find much that's decent at that price. This Kentucky at Elderly would do:

It at least has a solid top with it's laminate back. I had one as a starter mando and it was fine; sold it to another beginner later. Any of the other brands you find at that price (Rover, Lone Star, Copley) are going to be worse than the Kentucky.
There is an all laminate Kentucky called the 140 that I wouldn't recommend. The next step up is the 150, which is all solid, but it will cost you $225 or so. There is a used Kentucky 180 in the classifieds for $225, probably a decent deal if you can go that high.

I have an Epiphone MM-30 in excellent condition if you're interested. I'll even throw in a gig bag and leather strap. PM me if you're interested and we can discuss a price.
