I have a request to build a Rosewood mando to go with a guitar I am building. Where can I find a back set to build with? Brazilian is my first choice, but I can live with Indian.

I'd post your query here (http://luthiersforum.3element.com/forum/active_topics.asp?PN=1), as these guys seem to be more plugged into the BR scene...

I would contact Allied Lutherie. They sometimes have Bz Rw in billets which they usually resaw into guitar sets, or they may be able to order it in the size you want if you aren't in a hurry.

Keep in mind too that BR hides joints really well...
In other words, if you find a piece 4.75" wide, go for it and wing it...
I built a BR mando back one time out of 3" wide pieces, and it was amazing how hidden the joints were after all was said and done...
