Is that anyone who can get close to the way
he played it on the tribute cd ? Its so fast I'm having
trouble getting the chords ( I can only hear 2, D & A
if theres more I'm in big trouble ) Is that it ? Two
chords that sound like a lot more ?
Is anyone else faking big time like picking the same
notes 5 or six times so you dont feel like a dope ?
How would you like to see the exact music written on
a music sheet ? Get the nitro pills ready !

It is only the I and V chords.
I personally do not like Skaggs' version of it; it is way too fast, IMHO.

I'm afraid I dont understand I & V chords. Would
that be D & A in the key of D ?

Once you get your mando cross tuned it is not that hard to play the notes as Get up John is a fairly simple tune. The tuning is what makes the song IMHO. The trick is getting the rythmn right and then keeping that rythmn at high speed. It does sound great though!

As I'm new to cross tuning, will the chords be played
exactly as in regular tuning or do the finger positions
change ? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
What would the chords be ..say in the normal G C & D
progression ? Carrying it a bit further, can all tunes be
played in this alternate tuning ? Is this covered anywhere
in the archives ? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
