So while surfing I stumbled on this dvd series. This article made it sound like a new offering so I thought I would post it here for those interested. I think it focuses on guitar but should still have some good knowledge I would think. Thanks John

That is a cool site... the DVDs have potential to be very good. Of course, I got a laugh from the quote:

“The old luthiers know things,” says Holger Obenaus. “Claudio Pagelli can tell you why it’s important to get wood from a tree that was cut during a specific phase of the moon. Everybody knows that it's not the lunar phase when the tree was cut that matters, it's the alignment of the planets when the seed germinated! DUH!!! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Wow! Cheer down folks, the DVD isn't quite ready for distribution yet. Holger Obenaus recently told me it should arrive soon. Whatever soon is. He is a dedicated man on a mission with a dedicated team of his wife Cindy, and Norbert. Real technology mavens, accomplished musicians, and able to cram 48 hours into a day.

I got to see a clip of the DVD but not the whole thing. There will be music on it played by my "Teriffic Trio" that performed for me at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival. That would be Thom Bently (7 string archtop), John Massey (6 string archtop), and Olen Dillingham (Custom Ritz mandolin).

Kim Walker and Rick Turner will also be featured on the DVD, which is the second of the series.
