i am 80% done with a neck. it will have a violin scroll at the top. As I was carving the scroll, I noticed that the two pieces of the neck were starting to come apart. Is there a glue that I can get to wick into the space? The falure is only in the top inch or so, So I'm not too afraid of it wrecking the neck. I know that when I'm finished carving the scroll that this will be an extremely low stress area, but in the meantime, it is pretty high stress.
any suggestions are welcome.

A violin scroll carved in a two-piece neck? I assume you mean the two pieces are right and left.
CA wicks beautifully, but I am concerned that you'll be gluing old glue to old glue, rather than wood to wood. This glue joint failed for a reason. What do you suppose it is? This might illuminate a repair.

Is it a failed glue joint or a crack? For most structural applications I tend not to use CA adhesives, as they can be very brittle. Hot hide glue will wick into a very narrow crack if you heat the piece to be glued and slightly thin the glue. You have to shock the piece by tapping it to get the glue to go in sometimes.

Its a failed joint. I dont think I had enough clamps when I laminated the two pieces. I got a glue syringe yesterday and Injected some more glue in there and clamped it down. I will know how it worked today.

What kind of glue did you use originally and for repair?

A good joint isn't supposed to need much clamping. In some instances no clamping at all, since glue isn't really intended for strongarming mismatched surfaces together. So if your two-piece neck overpowered the glue and sprang open, you have a difficult situation. There's a reason for one-piece necks, and there are limits on glues and adhesives. If you're really certain this bad part of the joint has little or no structural work to do, you may have to just fill it (CA, whatever) and hope for the best. That, or start over.
