Hey Mandolin Friends!

My good friend Steve James will be visiting New York in March. Steve is based out of Austin, Texas and does not make it to his old hometown too often. Steve is a very talented finger style and slide guitarist. He is also a wonderful Blues Mandolinist who's spent time with Howard Armstrong, Sam McGee, Furry Lewis and Gus Cannon! How's that for a pedigree?

I will be hosting a two hour Mandolin Workshop in NYC on March 15th @ 6:30 PM. Steve is an excellent teacher and comes prepared. The cost will be $50 and is a first come, first served registration. We will cap the class at approximately a dozen students.

If you are interested, please email me and I will give you info on where to send your check. If we're lucky, we'll be treated to a song or two by Steve and his duo partner, Del Rey. They will be appearing at The Good Coffee House, Rosendale Cafe and Turning Point the weekend of March 10-12.

All The Best

Do come, if you can. Steve is a fixture at many of the Blues Camps, festivals and Workshops around the country. He is a frequent contributer to Acoustic Guitar Magazine. He is a great practictioner of that "Yank Rachel" (With whom he studied) style Blues Jugband Mando.

He is prominently featured on Maria Muldaur's recent album, "Sweet Loviin' Old Soul" along with his duo partner, Del Rey. Should be a great evening.

Sorry folks, I was out of town for a bit. . . . . . .

The workshops is almost full. I think I can squeeze one more in. First come, first serve. Email me. It is in Manhattan in the Flatiron district.

IRA - Steve may have some space in his schedule, so email me. Maybe we can get a New England workshop, house concert or something.
